Has anyone else here ever tried a meerschaum lined pipe? I bought a rather inexpensive one many years ago, and it really smokes cool.

Yep, have one from Kaywoodie, and excellent smoke, long as I keep the meer clean.

I've got two Falcon meer-lined bowls that are okay. I don't jump up and down about them, but I'd rather smoke the briar bowls. I use the meer-lined bowls for aromatics.

Yep, a Butz-Choquin, a Falcon Hyperbole bowl, and an Carey Magic Inch (Alpha-Israel)...they all smoke great...

I tried to buy one on ebay a couple of months ago, but missed out.

Yeah, several times over the years, i was never impressed with them myself. The meer lining also breaks down and flakes away after awhile. If I smoke a meer which is seldom, I rather smoke one of my regular meers. I just prefer briar over anything else.

I have never tried one, sorry - all I have are: cobs, a 'The Pipe', and my Briar pipes, tis enough to drive me nuts...:)

I have several - excellent pipes. The Alco are my favourites - smoke them regularly.
